Pro surfer Mikey DeTemple creates a must watch short film about the environment

DeTemple is known for creating surf cult short films but this one he believes is “the most important film” he has ever made. It’s about the problems Mikey and others situated in his home town of Montauk, New York face everyday, aware or not.

The Surfrider foundation approached the film maker and pro surfer with the idea to inform  people of their responsibilities to the water, how we can become more ocean friendly with little things that we may not consider to be harmful.

“You know, the really cool thing about this project is it translates to anywhere in the world – anywhere that has rain and water. And everywhere has that. You know, it’s gonna rain somewhere and it’s gonna runoff somewhere – and that somewhere almost always ends up being a body of water. It doesn’t matter what it is, it always ends up in a lake, a stream, a pond, a bay, an ocean. You know, you can scale it up from there, and it all leads to the ocean.”

Lets look after our ocean.
